I’m Rene and I started this site for anyone who is dealing with lower back pain.
Why?
Because I thought there needed to be a place where people who suffer with lower back pain (like I used to) could get fast answers and honest advice that actually works for getting rid of back pain.
See – a few years ago, lower back pain was taking me away from doing the things I loved.
I’ve always been a bit of an athlete – playing football, swimming, running track… but a about 3 years ago, out of nowhere, I started getting aches and pains across my lower back.
At first, I ignored it. I thought it’d go away on its own. But as the weeks went by, the problem only got worse. Suddenly, certain movements shot waves of pain across my back; getting up out of bed in the morning became a chore.
It went on for a couple weeks. Soon, I couldn’t even play sports – the pain was just too bad. I started getting really worried. Who wouldn’t?
I started worrying if I’d ever play sports again – or if I’d even be able to do my job, lift my kids and enjoy my spare time without pain.
Was it just an injury? Or something more serious, like a compressed disk? Would I need surgery or drugs? (I’m not opposed to medicine, but I try to avoid pain killers and such if I can help it…)
More than anything, I just wanted the pain to stop.
I talked to a doctor. He prescribed a program of exercises and stretches and told me it’d take a long time before I was ready to be active again.
But I’ve always been a curious guy, and I wondered what else might help get rid of the pain quickly (and safely – I didn’t want to risk an injury!)
So I started researching into the science on lower back pain, reading everything I could get my hands on – WebMD, medicine journals, research papers, magazine articles…
I learned a lot – including the fact that only 2% of back pain comes metastatic cancer, and just 1% from serious infections such as spinal osteomyelitis and epidural abscesses.
That was a relief.
But I kept going, obsessively fact-checking everything to weed out the myths and avoid wasting time and money on advice that wouldn’t work.
I took it a step further and started trying out different products to see what would help me.
After a few months of researching, testing and trying out different methods, I was able to get rid of my back pain and adopt new habits that have kept it away ever since.
I’m back to playing sports and living an active life again, and I couldn’t be happier!
But when I read that over 80% of adults would suffer from lower back pain in their lives, I KNEW I had to share everything I’d learned.
I hope that what you find here will be a help to you.
